As part of “Your Place, My Place, or Our Public Space? Privacy and Spaces in Mumbai,” a research project generated by the Lab in collaboration with PUKAR, a Mumbai-based independent research collective, thirty-nine in-depth interviews were conducted with residents from different areas of the city. These conversations—which generated a deeper understanding of where, why, and how privacy is interpreted and found in the city—were recorded, and excerpts could be heard by visitors at listening stations at the Mumbai Lab’s main site.
