Vertech Ltd is a Welsh company established to exploit a revolutionary polymer blending and processing technology developed by Rutgers University. The Bottles to Bridges project was conceived by Vertech to introduce this technology in Europe. The Vertech bridge was built over the River Tweed in Peeblesshire, Scotland, and is the first recycled thermoplastic road bridge to be built outside the United States and the longest ever constructed. In this talk, we learned more about this 100-percent-recyclable bridge and how this technology can be applied to other elements of urban infrastructure.
