What effect does the city have on your brain and physiology? During the Lab’s visits to New York and Berlin, we measured those impacts; for the Mumbai Lab, we wanted to examine how those results compared with results for Mumbai. Here, Colin Ellard of the University of Waterloo discusses this experiment, wherein he leads tours and gathers evidence about the psychological and physical effects of public spaces around the Lab. Participants in the tour also talk about what it was like to measure the city’s effects on their own minds and bodies.
