Where Is the Lab?
The BMW Guggenheim Lab is in transit to Berlin, where it will be open from June 15 to July 29, 2012. An international hub of culture, politics, media, and science, Berlin promises ample opportunity for urban analysis and the generating and testing of new ideas.
Berlin is the second stop on the Lab’s nine-city world tour. In the fall of 2011 the mobile laboratory had its inaugural run in one of New York’s most vibrant neighborhoods—the edge of the Lower East Side and East Village—where it hosted 56,000 visitors over ten weeks. From Berlin, the Lab will continue to Mumbai, where it will conclude its first two-year cycle under the theme of Confronting Comfort.
