The Invisible Frame (Cynthia Beatt, Germany, 2009, 60 min.)
In 1988, the filmmaker Cynthia Beatt collaborated with the actress Tilda Swinton to make Cycling the Frame, which showed Swinton riding beside the Berlin Wall on her bicycle. In 2009, the Berlin Wall was history, but Beatt and Swinton joined forces again. The Invisible Frame takes us on the same route through the now reunited city and the Brandenburg countryside. On her tour, Swinton encounters locals and remnants of history, making the film a meditative portrayal of the city of Berlin and the landscapes that surround it.

1988 entstand Cycling the Frame - die erste Zusammenarbeit zwischen der Filmemacherin Cynthia Beatt und der Schauspielerin Tilda Swinton, die darin die Berliner Mauer auf dem Rad erkundet. 2009 war die Mauer Geschichte, doch Beatt und Swinton arbeiteten erneut zusammen: The Invisible Frame nimmt uns mit auf eine Tour auf gleicher Route durch die wiedervereinte Stadt und das Brandenburger Umland. Während des Fahrradausflugs begegnet Swinton Einheimischen und Überresten der Geschichte – ein meditatives Porträt Berlins und der Landschaften, die es umgeben.
Die Veranstaltung findet in englischer Sprache mit deutscher Übersetzung statt.
